Job summary

Pretium is seeking a skilled Maintenance/Setup Technician to ensure smooth production flow in a blow molding environment. You will prepare and service molds, set process parameters, and collaborate with production to maximize uptime.

Qualifications include 3–5+ years in manufacturing, hands-on blow molding experience, and familiarity with CMMS systems. Strong mechanical and tooling proficiency, plus a team-first mindset, are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in manufacturing with hands-on blow molding experience.
• Mechanical troubleshooting with hand tools.
• Working knowledge of plastics/polymers and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• CMMS familiarity; MaintainX experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, install, align, and remove molds and tooling for extrusion or blow molding operations.
• Execute fast, repeatable changeovers; configure accessory devices and auxiliary equipment.
• Set up blow molding parameters: temperature profiles, parison programming, and blow pin settings.
• Crush downtime by diagnosing flash, thin walls, and material distribution issues.
• Tune machine pressure and timing to achieve spec, speed, and stability.
• Maintain molds: clean, polish, lubricate pins, locking rings, and cores to remove debris and buildup.
• Inspect and weigh parts; verify dimensions using precision measuring tools.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs; complete routine maintenance on molds and machines.
• Capture production metrics, downtime, and material use; keep detailed records in MaintainX (CMMS).
• Coach maintenance/setup teammates; collaborate with production and quality to optimize uptime.

Your Mandate (Day Shift)

• Coach maintenance/setup teammates; collaborate with production and quality to optimize uptime.
• Close the loop: finish end-of-shift reports and deliver a clear handoff to production and scheduling.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvement projects.
• Communicate clearly with peers and operations; uphold LOTO, GMP, and PPE standards.
• “Responsible for food safety, food quality and site safety.”

What It Takes

• 3–5+ years in a manufacturing setting with hands-on blow molding experience.
• Mechanical troubleshooting prowess; proficient with hand tools.
• Working knowledge of plastics/polymers and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Fluent in technical documentation: manuals, blueprints, schematics.
• Quality-driven mindset; able to hold tight tolerances and stable settings.
• CMMS familiarity and preventive maintenance planning (MaintainX experience preferred).
• Ability to lift molds; comfortable with bending, twisting, and climbing.
• Self-starter who thrives in a team; open to overtime as needed.
