Shape quality at the sourceStep onto the production floor where precision meets momentum. As our Injection Mold Tooling Specialist, you’ll be the person everyone calls when a press won’t cooperate, a hot runner acts up, or a critical tool needs to be turned around fast. Most days you’re hands‑on at the machines - troubleshooting, repairing, and fine‑tuning - so our molds run safely, efficiently, and produce parts we’re proud to ship. This role can be hired as Technician I, II, or Senior based on your background, and compensation is flexible within the posted range commensurate with experience in injection molding tooling, mold repair, and process support.

What your day looks like
  • Walk the line, diagnose mold issues in‑press (flash, shorts, sticking, cosmetics), and get parts back within spec quickly.
  • Plan and execute tear‑downs, repairs, and preventive maintenance to extend tool life and performance.
  • Clean, polish, lubricate, and replace pins, bushings, lifters, slides, ejectors, and other wear components.
  • Restore hot runner systems - trace heater/thermocouple faults, wiring issues, and leaks; vendors may include DME, Husky, Mold‑Masters, Synventive, or similar.
  • Inspect cooling circuits, vents, and parting lines; correct issues that compromise cycle time or part quality.
  • Respond to urgent breakdowns; complete on‑the‑spot fixes to minimize downtime.
  • Support mold trials, startups, changeovers, and process adjustments alongside Process Technicians and Operators.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Quality and Supervisors to drive root cause and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Document PMs and repairs accurately and on time.
  • Utilize welding, machining, grinding, polishing, and precise handwork as needed.
  • Reverse engineer damaged components using CAD and/or manual measurement methods.
What you bring

Calm, decisive troubleshooting under pressure; comfortable working in the press. 5+ years CNC mill programming and setup; 5+ years G‑code and CAD/CAM experience. Proficiency with all manual toolroom equipment (mill, lathe, surface grinder). EDM sinker and wire experience. Experience rigging/handling molds using an overhead crane. Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence with hand/measuring tools and shop equipment. Team‑first mindset with the ability to work independently.

Bonus skills
  • Tool & Die, Mold Making, or technical trade certification.
  • Precision micro TIG welding and A1 surface polishing.
  • Background in high-volume or tight‑tolerance sectors (automotive, medical, consumer goods).
  • Fusion 360 or SolidWorks; IQMS; HAAS CNC mill familiarity.
Physical & shop environment

Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. PPE required (safety glasses, high‑visibility apparel, safety‑toe boots). Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing; occasional tight‑space work. Work around hot molds, presses, cranes, and industrial equipment. Overtime or weekends as production demands. Hands‑on 60-80% of the time with a balance of desk/computer tasks.
