Job description

The Machine Operator sets up, operates, and is responsible for ensuring the machines produce high-quality products for our medical devices.

KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Read and follow operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedures.
2. Load component materials into product-specific tools.
3. Perform in-process inspection of all parts and/or assemblies.
4. Perform various dimensional inspections using specific dies, gauges, or dimensional inspection systems and micrometers.
5. Perform basic manufacturing setup tasks.
6. Work within standards and operating procedures to plan, perform, and make decisions regarding the setup and operation of production equipment, including automated machinery for functions such as filling, packing, assembling, labeling, and inspecting.
7. May perform clean-up functions in sterilized areas.
8. Identify the need for minor equipment repairs.
9. Analyze and evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams, test, and inspect procedures.
10. Assist with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions.
11. Monitor quality using statistical process control or other procedures.
12. Ensure accurate documentation of all relevant quality, safety, and maintenance activities.
13. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve basic issues related to machine performance and product quality.
14. Perform other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate across departments.
2. Ability to follow established procedures according to GMP standards.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Punctuality to ensure consistent production.
5. Ability to handle semi-routine tasks and recognize deviations from specifications.
6. Ability to operate independently within approved processes.
7. Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, analyzing charts, following diagrams, and basic arithmetic.
8. Basic proficiency with PCs and Windows environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. Work in a cleanroom environment following gowning and PPE protocols.
2. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.
3. Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
4. Frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
5. Must have good vision for close-up inspection.
