Prism Plastics, Inc. in Meadville, PA is seeking an engineering-focused project estimator who can evaluate feasibility, estimate costs, and propose manufacturing strategies for injection molds, production parts, tooling, and automation.

You will review designs for manufacturability, lead customer feasibility reviews, run Moldflow simulations, and coordinate with tooling suppliers and raw material experts to deliver quotes and schedules.

Qualifications

Reading blueprints and tolerances to verify part feasibility.
Ability to analyze manufacturability and suggest design improvements.
Experience estimating costs for molds, prototypes, and tooling.
Knowledge of tool and plastics manufacturing cost drivers and processes.
Strong communication with customers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Estimate project costs and timing for new or transfer molds and tooling.
Review designs for manufacturability and provide improvements as applicable.
Identify manufacturing strategies to optimize efficiency, quality, and profitability.
Complete and evaluate Mold Filling Simulations for cycle time estimates and feasibility issues.
Create preliminary tool concept layouts for feasibility and cost estimation.
Lead customer feasibility reviews of potential projects.
