This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure mold designs meet customer specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and quality standards. The Mold Design Engineer plays a critical role in driving innovation and efficiency in mold design processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of injection mold building and injection molding is a plus.
• Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with mold flow simulation software is a plus.
• Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plastic injection molds using 3D CAD software.
• Review customer part data to determine mold design requirements.
• Create detailed mold component drawings and assemblies.
• Collaborate with toolmakers, project managers, and customers to ensure design feasibility.
• Perform mold flow analysis and design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews.
• Support engineering changes and mold revisions as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of designs and revisions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
