Job summary

Essentra PLC is seeking a Toolroom Changeover Technician to support our Injection Molding team. You will prepare molds and tooling, perform changeovers, and ensure safe, efficient production operations on the shop floor.

Candidates should have mechanical aptitude, experience with mold/tooling environments, and the ability to read work instructions and setup sheets. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• HS diploma preferred or GED.
• Experience in injection molding, manufacturing, toolroom operations or machine setup is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of how machines, molds, and tooling work together.
• Ability to use common hand tools and basic measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform mold and machine changeovers according to production schedules and procedures.
• Safely prepare injection molds and related tooling for production.
• Connect and disconnect water lines, electrical connections, hydraulics, and other mold-related equipment for testing.
• Inspect molds, tooling, and equipment and identify issues that may impact production or quality.
• Troubleshoot problems and communicate tooling or equipment concerns to the team.
• Collaborate with Process Technicians, Toolmakers, Supervisors, and Quality personnel for setups.
• Follow setup sheets, work instructions, and production specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe toolroom and production area.
• Use hand tools and measuring equipment safely and appropriately.
• Complete required documentation related to changeovers, tooling, and production setups.
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to changeover efficiency, tooling reliability, safety, and production performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
