Golden State Dermatology is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support Mohs histology and surgical procedures in Beverly Hills, CA. This full-time role involves preparing rooms, handling specimens, and maintaining critical lab and patient records.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling tissue specimens and patient information.
• Able to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and patient safety.
• Understand sterile technique, infection prevention, and clinical safety practices.
• Ability to interpret technical information and troubleshoot problems.
• Follow established protocols and escalate when needed.
• Multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced surgical and laboratory environment.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, laboratory personnel, and administrative teams.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies for Mohs procedures.
• Mark tissue specimens with dyes for orientation.
• Assist with tissue mapping and locating residual tumor.
• Prepare frozen sections and mount slides for evaluation.
• Maintain daily laboratory logs and QA/QC procedures.
• Organize Mohs laboratory and monitor inventory.
• Document patient information in the EMR.
• Prepare exam rooms and obtain medical history.
• Room patients and record vital signs.
• Assist with Mohs surgery and wound care.
• Maintain sterile technique during procedures.
• Coordinate scheduling for Mohs procedures.
