Anne Arundel Dermatology is hiring a Mohs Histotechnician to join Knoxville Dermatology Group in Knoxville, TN. You will prepare frozen tissue sections for Mohs surgery and support high-quality microscopic analysis.

Work focuses on cryostat operation, embedding, cutting, staining, and maintaining a compliant, efficient laboratory environment with safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience preparing frozen sections for Mohs cases preferred.
• Experience with cryostats and Mohs specimen processing preferred.
• Independently cut and process 12-14 Mohs cases with 20-minute turnaround.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume lab while maintaining safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare frozen tissue sections for microscopic examination using a cryostat.
• Gross, embed, cut, stain, and process tissue for Mohs surgery.
• Maintain efficient workflow and prioritize multiple cases based on clinical needs.
• Care for and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, properly inventoried laboratory environment.
• Follow CLIA, OSHA, infection control, and lab safety standards.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and quality-control records.
• Support timely turnaround of Mohs specimens while ensuring quality and safety.
• Collaborate with Mohs surgeons and lab staff to support surgical workflow.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Lab Manager or management.
