General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. in Groton is seeking experienced engineers to serve as Module Leads for the SSBN 826 construction program.

This role focuses on engine room or exterior module leadership, acting as the engineering liaison to trades and guiding resolution of constructability issues. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, participate in shipyard meetings, and support testing, certification, and delivery as the project progresses toward final assembly.

Competenze

• 5+ years post-graduate engineering experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance or higher is required.
• Ability to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter and Columbia Class design is preferred.
• CR/CN experience and familiarity with change management processes is preferred.
• Knowledge of the shipyard organizational structure and processes is preferred.

Mansioni

• Provide engineering oversight to emergent shipyard issues arising during construction and communicate assessments to Shipyard and Trade Management.
• Support trades daily in navigating disclosures and work packages and understanding the build sequence.
• Ensure drawing revisions and change notices supporting construction are prioritized and acted upon by construction and design/engineering.
• Attend production meetings, provide status of holdups, and drive completion of actions such as work package development and material procurement.
• Work in a project capacity to communicate risks and discuss technical issues to integrate Engineering with the shipyard.
• Conduct multidisciplinary engineering evaluations to support manufacturing and construction needs.
• Support testing, certification events and government certification meetings.
