Job summary

Inspired Designs Engineering and Architecture (IDEA) is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to design, certify, and optimize steel-based modular building systems across diverse markets in the U.S. The role emphasizes safety, code compliance, and manufacturing efficiency while collaborating with architecture, production, and project teams.

The ideal candidate will combine strong structural expertise with practical manufacturing knowledge and a passion for off-site construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required.
• Minimum five (5) years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with modular, prefabricated, manufactured, industrialized, or off-site construction preferred.
• Experience coordinating with manufacturing and production teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering packages including calculations, drawings, and details.
• Design modular building structural systems: steel framing, cold-formed steel, and hybrid systems.
• Develop anchorage, tie-down, and connection details for safe transport and installation.
• Verify structural integrity during manufacturing, transport, and field assembly.
• Assist with state approvals, code compliance, and documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
