Job summary

Inspired Designs Engineering and Architecture (IDEA) is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to support design, engineering, certification, and continuous improvement of steel-based modular building systems across the United States.

The role requires strong structural expertise, knowledge of code compliance (IBC, IRC, ASCE 7), and collaboration with cross-functional teams including production, manufacturing, and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Minimum five (5) years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience designing commercial, modular, or off-site building structures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and engineering for modular buildings using steel and cold-formed framing.
• Develop module-to-module connections and module-to-foundation interfaces.
• Prepare stamped calculations and engineering documentation when licensed.
• Review and approve design changes and field engineering updates.
• Support state approvals, code compliance, and manufacturing integration.
• Collaborate with architecture, production, and project teams to optimize constructability.
