Job summary

Fremont Economic Development Corporation is seeking a Modular Project Architect to inform and produce modular home product designs. This role combines internal technical work and external collaboration with development partners to address the housing crisis.

The ideal candidate will have experience in architecture, strong Revit skills, and the ability to manage complex projects efficiently. The position offers flexibility with a full-time in-person or hybrid schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Modular Project Architect brings major value to the organization by being an integral part of informing and producing our modular home product designs. This role is unique in that it works consistently internally on technical aspects of project design but also externally with development partners and customers. This role will help drive our innovative approach to home building and get us closer to our goal of helping solve the housing crisis.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare submittal packages and manage architectural documents.
  • Communicate with consultants, contractors, and owner on project deliverables and scheduled timeline(s).
  • Analyze building codes, by‑laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
  • Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages according to required mediums and specifications.
  • Explain drawings to process engineers and construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary.
  • Coordinate structural, electrical, and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.
  • Confer with management, production, or marketing staff to discuss project specifications or procedures.
  • Coordinate design intent with in‑house drafting team to assist in producing shop drawings; including design intent from other (outside) professionals included in the project.
  • Consult with other intercompany teams to determine functional or spatial requirements of structures.
  • Develop final construction plans that include aesthetic representations of the structure or details for its construction.
  • Aid in compiling construction details for a set and stitch manual.
  • Integrate engineering elements into unified architectural designs.
  • Conduct periodic production/manufacturing observations of construction work to monitor compliance with plans.
  • Periodically generate graphics and visualizations for marketing purposes and/or project submittal packages.
  • Assist sales team with technical product information requested by potential customers as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience at an architecture firm
  • Competent in Revit software required.
  • Basic understanding of residential construction
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Colorado Architect’s License is a plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding of building codes and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Requirements
  • In‑Person full time preferred but opportunities for a hybrid schedule exist.
  • This role requires signing a confidentiality agreement, intellectual property rights agreement, and non‑compete and non‑disclosure agreement.
  • Reference check that speaks to the positive character of the applicant.
  • May be required to regularly stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time, lift or carry more than 50 pounds, climb/balance on stairs or ladders, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Must be competent and comfortable in basic computer skills and navigating modern technology.
