Job summary

A leading development corporation in California is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure the quality of modular homes during manufacturing. You'll perform inspections, run quality tests, and provide guidance to production teams on quality standards. Candidates should have experience in quality control, excellent communication skills, and ideally a degree in Construction Technology or Engineering. This is an in-person role with a competitive hourly rate between $23 and $26, along with various employee benefits.

Job description

The Quality Inspector is responsible for reviewing products, materials, and processes during the manufacturing of modular homes to ensure they meet all necessary quality requirements. Duties include running quality tests, identifying defects, measuring objects compared to their intended physical specifications and training production specialists on quality procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote and advocate a culture of quality within the team Inspect and test materials, sub-assemblies and finished products
• Read design drawings and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards
• Recommend any necessary changes to improve or enhance production processes or training protocols
• Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and work with the supply chain team to correct issues with suppliers
• Ensure products meet customer expectations and adhere to Fading West’s Quality Standards
• Communicate the results of inspections and assist with corrective actions
• Maintain quality documentation where necessary and write reports to document deficiencies and errors found during inspections

QUALIFICATIONS

• Quality control inspection experience in any industry
• Ability to read design and production drawings
• Strong regard for quality assurance
• Working knowledge of construction industry products, processes and building systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to train others effectively
• Degree in Construction Technology, Engineering or equivalent preferred

REQUIREMENTS

• In-Person (this position cannot be performed remotely)
• This role requires signing a confidentiality agreement, intellectual property rights agreement, and non-disclosure agreement
• Background check results that meet Fading West’s standards
• Reference check that speaks to the positive character of the applicant
• May be required to regularly stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time, lift or carry more than 50 pounds, climb/balance on stairs or ladders, stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Must be competent and comfortable in basic computer skills and navigating modern technology

COMPENSATION

Hourly Rate Range: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour (Rate commensurate with experience) Fading West rigorously adheres to Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, C.R.S. § 8-5-201(1)
