Job summary

ROXBOX Containers is seeking a Construction Estimator for our Houston team. You will transform project requirements into accurate, buildable estimates using internal pricing, vendor quotes, and historical data.

The role rewards analytical thinkers who read blueprints, manage multiple estimates, and improve our estimating systems with experience. This full-time position offers medical, dental, vision, PTO, and benefits, with on-site work in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in construction estimating, project management, or related fields.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills; Bluebeam and estimating software experience are a plus.
• Analytical and detail-oriented—you notice the small things that make a big difference.

Responsibilities

• Develop Cost Estimates – Prepare project estimates using internal pricing, material and labor costs, historical data, and vendor/subcontractor quotes.
• Review Drawings & Specifications – Analyze architectural, structural, and MEP documents to understand scope, materials, construction methods, and estimating requirements.
• Perform Quantity Takeoffs – Calculate materials, labor, equipment, and other project costs based on drawings and project requirements.
• Clarify Scope & Requirements – Participate in client discovery and internal project discussions to ensure scope, priorities, and budget expectations are reflected in estimates.
• Gather Market Pricing – Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing, lead times, and scope information.
• Prepare & Update Bids – Build pricing breakdowns and supporting information, then revise estimates as designs and project requirements evolve.
• Manage Pricing Data – Maintain accurate and organized estimating information, cost data, vendor pricing, and project records.
• Collaborate Across Teams – Work closely with Sales, Design, Project Management, Procurement, and Production to ensure estimates reflect real-world construction requirements.
• Improve How We Estimate – As your experience grows, help refine pricing data, estimating tools, SOPs, and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
