Job summary

KBR is seeking a Modernization Project Engineer for the TACOM (WVA) program on a contingency basis. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and executing system upgrades and modernization initiatives to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.

The incumbent will develop plans, interpret drawings, support testing, and manage change control across multiple sites. This position requires engineering expertise, 4–7 years of experience, and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, systems, or related discipline).
• Typically 4–7 years of engineering experience, including experience supporting projects or system integration efforts.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required).
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate engineering efforts related to system modernization and upgrade projects.
• Analyze existing systems and recommend modernization improvements.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and technical documentation for modernization efforts.
• Ensure engineering activities meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
• Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and program leadership to execute project requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Support testing, validation, and verification of upgraded or modified systems.
• Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with Army Technical Manuals (TMs), engineering standards, and quality requirements.
• Support configuration management and change control processes.
• Prepare technical reports, briefings, and status updates for stakeholders.
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and technical evaluations.
• Support audits, inspections, and government reviews as required.
