Job description

Note: this role is available to residents in the states of North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.

Do you get real satisfaction from building an end-user computing environment that just works: secure, seamless, and invisible to the people relying on it? Are you as fluent in Microsoft Intune and Autopilot as you are in Entra ID and Conditional Access, and ready to shape how a modern workplace is built rather than just maintain one?

We're partnering with an established organization to find a Modern Workplace Engineer who will design, implement, and support a secure, cloud-first end-user computing environment built on Microsoft technologies. This is a hands-on role at the center of how the organization manages devices, identity, and access across Windows, mobile, and cloud platforms, with real influence over how Zero Trust principles are put into practice day to day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot for device provisioning, configuration, compliance, patching, and application deployment
  • Support device lifecycle management across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms

Identity & Access Management

  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including users, groups, devices, and role-based access control (RBAC)
  • Configure and manage MFA, SSO, and Conditional Access policies aligned with Zero Trust principles for secure access to Microsoft 365 and third-party applications

Security & Compliance

  • Implement endpoint security baselines and support Microsoft Defender and compliance initiatives
  • Ensure regulatory alignment, and participate in audits, incident response, and continuous security improvements
  • Support Azure-based services that enable the modern workplace
  • Collaborate on hybrid and cloud-native identity/device strategies, and monitor configurations for performance, security, and cost optimization

Troubleshooting & Documentation

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for modern workplace issues, partnering with service desk and engineering teams to resolve complex endpoint, identity, and access-related incidents
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and runbooks
  • Evaluate new Microsoft workplace features and recommend enhancements to improve user experience and operational efficiency

Key Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on enterprise experience supporting modern workplace technologies
  • Hands-on enterprise experience with Microsoft Intune for device and application management
  • Proven experience deploying and managing Windows Autopilot for device provisioning and lifecycle management
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including users, groups, devices, and Conditional Access
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Azure and cloud-based workplace services
  • Deep understanding of Windows 11, modern device management, and endpoint security concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills in an enterprise environment

Preferred

  • Microsoft certifications such as MD-102, SC-300, AZ-104, or MS-102

If you're ready to bring hands-on Microsoft expertise to a team advancing Zero Trust and modern device management at scale, we'd love to hear from you.
