About the role
We're looking for Moderators to join our External Quality Assurance team on a flexible worker contract for the following qualification:
Level 1/2 Technical Award in Music Technology
As a Moderator, you'll play a key role in ensuring that centres assess learners fairly, accurately and consistently. You'll review centre-marked work, apply quality assurance principles, and provide clear, constructive feedback to ensure national standards are maintained.
We’re keen to hear from individuals with a strong background in music technology, with experience of teaching and/or assessing learners in this subject area. You may currently work, or have previously worked, as a Music Technology Teacher, Music Production Lecturer, Audio Production Lecturer or Music and Sound Teacher.
Whilst this is a flexible worker role, we require a reasonable level of commitment throughout the moderation window. Moderation activities begin in March 2027 where you will be expected to attend one of our Annual Training sessions. The primary moderation period will be between April and August 2027, during which your engagement will be most critical.
Our flexible workforce provides supportive quality assurance to ensure that learners taking NCFE qualifications are getting the best education possible. If you become a flexible worker with us, you’ll choose how to fit your work around your other personal and professional commitments – making this a great opportunity to make a difference in a way that suits you.
You’ll receive full training and the materials, tools or equipment needed to ensure you’re able to complete your duties in line with NCFE requirements, with the ability to take on flexible worker contract alongside other work, without the need to be registered as self-employed.
All applicants will be expected to adhere to NCFE’s behavioural framework and to uphold our core values.
