Job summary

NCFE is seeking Examiners to join the Assessment Delivery team on a flexible working contract for the Level 1/2 Technical Award in Interactive Media. Examiners will mark external assessments during the summer 2027 marking window, ensuring fair, consistent and accurate results.

If you have Interactive Media, Creative Media, Digital Media, Games Design, Animation or Multimedia teaching or assessor experience, this is a great way to apply your expertise and contribute to learner assessment.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification at Level 3 or above in interactive media or related subject.
• Current or recent teaching experience at Level 3+ in interactive media or related subject.
• Understanding of effective quality assurance and assessment processes.
• Ability to work consistently within tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow and maintain the standard set by the Chief Examiner with consistent marking.
• Report suspected malpractice or safeguarding concerns to the Assessment Delivery team.
• Attend examiner standardisation and other meetings; remote, weekday 9:00–17:00 before marking window.
• Maintain confidentiality of NCFE assessment materials and learner data; report breaches.

About the role

We’re looking for Examiners to join our Assessment Delivery team on a flexible worker contract for the following qualification:

Level 1/2 Technical Award in Interactive Media

As an Examiner, you’ll use your subject knowledge to mark external assessments and submit results throughout the summer 2027 marking window, helping to ensure learners receive fair, consistent and accurate results.

If you’re an Interactive Media, Creative Media, Digital Media, Games Design, Animation or Multimedia teacher, lecturer, trainer or assessor, this is a great opportunity to put your expertise to use and make a valuable contribution to the assessment of learners.

Marking window dates are subject to change and will be communicated throughout the process should you be successful.

How you'll make an impact:

• Following and maintaining the standard set by the Chief Examiner, applying the mark scheme consistently and accurately
• Reporting suspected malpractice or safeguarding concerns to the Assessment Delivery team
• Attending examiner standardisation and other meetings as required - standardisationevents will be run remotely and scheduled for weekdays between the hours of 9.00am-5.00pm prior to the start of the marking window
• Maintaining the confidentiality of NCFE assessment materials, learner evidence and learner details, and report any breaches to the Assessment Delivery team

• A relevant qualification at Level 3 or above in interactive media or a closely related subject area
• Current or recent teaching experience at Level 3 or above in an interactive media related subject, or significant recent occupational experience within the sector
• An understanding of effective quality assurance and assessment processes
• The ability to work consistently within tight deadlines
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
