Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Huntsville, AL seeks a Staff Systems Engineer to lead modeling, simulation, and analysis for cruise-missile programs. You will develop physics-based models, validate them with flight-test data, and produce technical reports for executive audiences.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with extensive experience in modeling and scripting, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
• 12 Years with bachelor’s in science; 10 Years with masters; 8 Years with PhD.

Responsibilities

• Support development and integration of physics-based predictive models and simulation frameworks for cruise-missile accuracy performance.
• Conduct maturation, validation, and verification of accuracy error models using ground- and flight-test data.
• Perform post-flight estimation and analysis of missile accuracy, producing technical reports and executive-level presentations.
• Develop and trace requirements for modeling, simulation, and analysis tools; manage change-request and Engineering Review Board (ERB) processes.
• Support agile development practices using Jira/Confluence to manage tasks and deliverables.
• Support mission-effectiveness trade-studies and recommend alternative architecture solutions.
