Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer Level 2 or 3 to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program on the SPIDER team. You will contribute to modeling and simulation products for the GWS capability for MDA, collaborating with a fast-paced, diverse team.

The role emphasizes developing, maturing, and debugging a high-fidelity Fire Control software model, with emphasis on data analysis, validation, and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university; Level 2 requires 2 years of experience or a Master's with 1 year.
• Level 3 requires 5 years of experience or a Master's with 3 years.
• Demonstrated software development experience in languages such as C, C++, MATLAB, JAVA, ADA, Python, or GIT.
• Experience with Object Oriented Programming and SOLID design principles.
• Experience with modeling and simulation concepts, including validation, verification, and benchmarking against tactical systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance is required to start and 10% travel may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Developing, maturing, and debugging high-fidelity models of the GWS Fire Control tactical software.
• Code translation and design/data-structure work across languages.
• Debugging and tuning models to reflect tactical behavior; awareness of concurrency and threading where needed.
• Perform data analytics and root cause analysis to improve simulations.
