Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Coordinator of Clinical Skills in designing and constructing clinical skills teaching models.
  • Create models and learning materials aligned with curricular goals.
  • Monitor condition of existing models; perform maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
  • Solve model-related durability and tactile property challenges.
  • Maintain documentation of construction processes and specifications.
  • Work with the CIVET workshop and CVM Model Building team at Harrogate, TN campus.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of clinical skills laboratories and ensure supplies are available.
  • Support veterinary technicians and faculty during labs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized work environment and inventory records.
  • Forecast resource needs and coordinate ordering, receiving, and distribution of supplies.
  • Collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary projects involving clinical models.
  • Supervise student research assistants in model development or inventory management.

Job Duty

Assist the Coordinator of Clinical Skills, in consultation with faculty, in designing and constructing clinical skills teaching models.

Create models and related learning materials to enhance student learning in alignment with curricular goals

Monitor the condition of existing models, performing routine maintenance, repairs, or replacements as needed

Innovatively solve model-related challenges related to durability, tactile properties, and functionality

Maintain accurate documentation of the model construction process and specifications

Work in support of the main campus CIVET workshop and the Director of CVM Model Building at the Harrogate, TN campus

Assist with setup and breakdown of clinical skills laboratories, ensuring models, equipment, and consumables are available.

Support veterinary technicians and faculty during laboratory sessions as needed

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work and laboratory environment

Maintain accurate records of teaching models, tools, and supply inventory

Track usage and forecast needs to ensure adequate availability of resources

Coordinate ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies

Work collaboratively with faculty on interdisciplinary projects involving clinical skills models

Supervise veterinary student research assistants contributing to model development or inventory management

Participate in departmental, College, and University committees and initiatives.

Engage in community outreach and educational programs related to veterinary medicine and animal health

Foster effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students

Maintain professionalism and courtesy in all interactions

Perform related duties in support of the College’s and University’s mission and evolving needs
