Job summary

Lonza in Portsmouth, NH, seeks a MODA-ES Supervisor to lead the MES Engineering team, supporting electronic batch records within the MODA-ES platform. You will provide technical leadership, drive improvements, and mentor engineers to ensure compliant, efficient manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5-10 years in regulated manufacturing environments such as pharma/biotech.
• 5-10 years supporting automation/MES; MODA-ES experience preferred.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
• Experience with quality systems (deviations, CAPAs, change controls).
• Strong communication skills across functions and levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the MES Engineering team with coaching and performance management.
• Drive MES projects and maintain electronic batch records within MODA-ES.
• Develop schedules, prioritize workloads, and manage timelines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, CAPEX, Global and customer teams for project execution.
• Author and close quality records including deviations, CAPAs and change controls.
• Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting for MES applications and related systems.
• Lead training initiatives for MES Engineers and Manufacturing staff.

Join Lonza as a MODA-ES Supervisor , where you will lead the MES Engineering team supporting electronic batch record (eBR) development and maintenance within the MODA-ES Manufacturing Execution System. What you will do

• Lead and supervise the MES Engineering team, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

• 5-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

• 5-10 years of experience supporting automation systems or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES); MODA-ES experience is preferred.

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

• Strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.

• Experience with quality systems, including deviations, CAPAs, and change controls.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and levels of the organization.
