Job summary

Lonza in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Manufacturing Project Specialist to lead readiness for production campaigns, review documents, and drive cross-functional collaboration for safe, compliant, and efficient campaigns.

You will partner with internal teams, customers and subject matter experts to ensure manufacturing is set up for success, manage improvement projects end-to-end, and contribute to life-changing therapies in a team-focused, safety- and quality-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in biotechnology or manufacturing.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing readiness activities for production campaigns.
• Review and approve manufacturing documents, including SOPs, batch records, and validation protocols.
• Collaborate with teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to support successful execution.
• Manage improvement projects from concept through completion.
• Support document creation and accuracy using analysis, dry runs, and mock set-ups.
• Represent Manufacturing in meetings and communicate progress, risks, and updates.

The Manufacturing Project Specialist is responsible for ensuring manufacturing readiness across production suites and support areas. What we are looking for

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with SAP is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
