Job summary

nLIGHT is seeking a MOCVD Technician to join our team in Vancouver, WA. The role focuses on operating and maintaining MOCVD reactors and assessment tools, ensuring produced materials meet specs.

The position supports engineers, follows 5S, and adheres to safety and quality standards. Two shift options are available, with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, tuition assistance, and more.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in engineering, physics, materials, or chemistry a plus.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and be dependable and reliable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong math skills, including basic algebra.
  • Ability to multitask with a high degree of flexibility.
  • Self-motivated and a strong team player.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills to perform data entry.
  • Must be committed to working safely and producing a quality product.
  • Ability to work overtime if required to meet output schedules.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Support operation of MOCVD wafer processes for manufacturing high power semiconductor lasers.
  • Organize, clean, and maintain workspaces and tools using the 5S process.
  • Clean, repair, and rebuild parts and components.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Handle, store, deliver, track, and dispose of chemicals and hazardous waste.
  • Assist engineers and senior technicians with troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes through SPC.
  • Improve and document processes and procedures.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot MOCVD wafer processes.
