Job summary

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in California seeks a Mobility Tech to ensure Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) across the hospital and related locations. You will move, transfer, and mobilize patients using lifts and transfer chairs, while maintaining patient dignity and safety.

You will inspect, operate, and maintain equipment, report malfunctions, and mentor new staff in SPHM techniques. A valid CA driver’s license is required for vehicle operators, and BLS certification is

Qualifications

• Read, speak, understand, and follow written and verbal directions in English.
• Recognizes emergencies and can react clearly in urgent situations.
• Ability to train other staff and adjust schedules per hospital needs.
• Demonstrates computer skills using workstation software.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Call Center experience preferred.
• Current Dispatch/Patient Transport experience.
• Basic Math skills and 24-hour time knowledge preferred.
• Willingness to work in Storeroom, Mailroom, and Print Shop and learn other functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) across hospital and locations.

• Inspect, operate, and maintain patient handling equipment; report malfunctions.
