Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Mobility Technician to collaborate with nursing leadership, rehab services, and physicians to implement early mobility interventions. The role includes updating EMR and educating staff on safe handling equipment, with a focus on mobility metrics and performance improvement.

The position requires High School/GED, CPR certification, and background clearances; flexibility to work evenings and weekends is expected. Full-time schedule of 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • CPR certification from American Heart Association.
  • Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 FBI background clearances required.
  • Flexibility to work 8-hour shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience in acute patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate early mobility interventions (40%).
  • Assist staff with mobilizing complex and high-risk patients (20%).
  • Update patient EMR as directed, including white boards (10%).
  • Educate staff regarding safe patient handling equipment and mobility tools (10%).
  • Serve as an active member of the mobility and fall team (10%).
  • Monitor mobility metrics and lead performance improvement initiatives (10%).
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
