Job summary

South Plains Community Action Association in Lubbock, TX is seeking a driver to operate the Workforce Mobile Unit and guide customers toward self-sufficiency. You will travel within the 15-county service area, register participants in WorkinTexas, and provide information about Workforce services.

The role requires basic computer skills, data entry, and strong communication. You will conduct vehicle pre-trip inspections and adhere to safety standards, with a focus on serving diverse communities

Qualifications

Experience with data entry, state data systems, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Basic computer literacy incl. Internet and MS Office.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication.
Knowledge of vehicle operations, pre-trip inspection, and routine maintenance.
Ability to work with diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
Must be 21+ and have Class C Driver's License; acceptable driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's preferred; combo acceptable.

Responsibilities

Operate the Workforce Mobile Unit and drive to communities in the 15-county area.
Register customers in WorkinTexas and provide information on Workforce services.
Assist customers toward self-sufficiency and route planning.
Ensure vehicle safety checks and maintain service quality.
