Job summary

South Plains Community Action Association in Lubbock, TX is seeking a driver to operate the Workforce Mobile Unit and guide customers toward self-sufficiency. You will travel within the 15-county service area, register participants in WorkinTexas, and provide information about Workforce services.

The role requires basic computer skills, data entry, and strong communication. You will conduct vehicle pre-trip inspections and adhere to safety standards, with a focus on serving diverse communities

Qualifications

• Experience with data entry, state data systems, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Basic computer literacy incl. Internet and MS Office.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication.
• Knowledge of vehicle operations, pre-trip inspection, and routine maintenance.
• Ability to work with diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
• Must be 21+ and have Class C Driver's License; acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's preferred; combo acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Workforce Mobile Unit and drive to communities in the 15-county area.
• Register customers in WorkinTexas and provide information on Workforce services.
• Assist customers toward self-sufficiency and route planning.
• Ensure vehicle safety checks and maintain service quality.

Requirements

• Required experience in data entry, state data systems, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
• Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use the Internet and Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent interpersonal skills on. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must have basic knowledge of operations of motor vehicles and ability to perform vehicle pre-trip inspection, and minor and routine maintenance on transportation vehicles.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with people from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds is essential.
• Must be accepted by Agency insurance.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must have at least a Class C Driver's License
• Must have and maintain an acceptable driver's record. Driver's license background checks will be conducted by the Agency.
• A High Scholl diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred.
• An equivalent combination of experience and education may be substituted for a degree.
