Job summary

TridentCare in San Diego, CA is seeking a PICC Line Nurse to assess patients, perform PICC line placements, and ensure correct insertion with aseptic technique.

This on-site, part-time role requires independence, clear communication with patients and staff, thorough documentation, and ongoing education about PICC care.

The position expects at least two years of OR/IR/PICC insertion experience; compensation is $100 per hour with a benefits package for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Must have good knowledge base for caring for central venous catheters.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• 2 years of OR, IR, or PICC insertion experience

Responsibilities

• Ability to work independently.
• Communicates effectively and appropriately to patient, family and other health care providers.
• Completes required paperwork.
• Provides patient education about PICC insertion and care post insertion.
• Participates in performance improvement activities by providing information about each PICC insertion
• Assures physicians order on chart for PICC placement.
• Assures Informed Consent has been obtained.
• Performs time out; correct patient identifier prior to initiating PICC procedure.
• Demonstrates ability to perform PICC placement maintaining aseptic technique.
• Documents insertion of PICC and placement confirmation and medication administration
• Provide facility nurses with PICC care instructions.
• Assist Territory Managers in meetings for clinical support as needed.
• Assist Director of Vascular Access in facility rounds.
