Qualifications

• Good knowledge base for caring for central venous catheters.

• 2 years of OR, IR, or PICC insertion experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and evaluate overall suitability for PICC placement.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique during PICC insertion.
• Obtains informed consent and verifies physician orders.
• Documents PICC placement and post-procedure care as required by policy.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and healthcare teams.
• Maintains clinical competency by inserting PICCs per year and training observations.
