Job summary

FleetPride is seeking a Mobile Trailer Technician II to diagnose, repair and maintain Class 7 & 8 trailers. You will perform preventative maintenance, welding, and fabrication in the shop and on the road, with some after-hours on-call rotations.

Requirements include 3+ years of trailer repair, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. CDL is preferred; tools provided by you are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience with repairing class 7 & 8 trailers.
• Carpentry fabrication and welding experience.
• Valid driver’s license; Class A CDL preferred.
• Must provide hand tools and air tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must maintain a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Examine trailers to determine extent of damage or malfunction.
• Diagnoses, repairs, builds and rebuilds all parts of trailer equipment.
• Provide customers with preventative maintenance solutions when appropriate.
• Maintain 80% productivity and prevent comebacks.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of trailers and equipment.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric and brake accessories).
• Test components using proper equipment to ensure proper operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems including leaf and coil spring systems.
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and service truck.
• Practice safe driving.
