Job summary

FleetPride, the largest after-market distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts in the U.S., seeks an experienced technician to inspect, repair, and maintain Class 7 and 8 trucks and trailers. Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventive maintenance, braking systems, suspensions, electricals, and welding.

A clean driving record and tools are required. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, plus diesel tech training.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Diesel technology certificate/degree is a plus, but not required.
3+ years of experience repairing class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers.
Welding and air brake certification are a plus.

Responsibilities

Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunction(s).
Provide preventative maintenance solutions where appropriate.
Maintain 80% productivity and prevent comebacks.
Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric and brake accessories).
Test drive vehicles and components using proper equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair suspension, electrical, exhaust, and steering systems.
