Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger to industrial equipment. The role includes diagnosing and repairing semi-truck components, ensuring safe vehicle operation, and adhering to safety procedures.

Responsibilities cover load handling, stock counts, and TPMS work, with opportunities to participate in training and follow company policies. Some onsite service may be required during breakdowns.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Experience with heavy duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to lift and/or move tires weighing between 30-250 lbs. with or without mechanical assistance.
• Repetitive and sustained exertions, forceful exertions, awkward postures, mechanical stress concentrations, vibrations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for passenger, light trucks, large trucks and industrial equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair semi-truck and trailers including HVAC, brakes, steering & suspension, PM inspections, drive train and electrical.
• Ensure safe operation of company vehicles and comply with speed and traffic regulations.
• Participate in safety training and follow company policies.
• Load and unload stock and assist with physical inventory.
• Work with Tire TPMS (Tire Pressure Management System).
• Other duties as assigned.
