Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a service technician to perform tire service and repair work on customer vehicles of all sizes. A company service truck will be provided to perform duties at onsite locations.

Responsibilities include mounting, balancing, and diagnosing tire-related issues, fleet inspections, and assisting with inventory. Applicants should be able to lift up to 250 lbs and pass a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Experience with heavy duty or commercial tires preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to lift and/or move tires weighing 30-250 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair all types of tires from passenger, light trucks, large trucks to industrial.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair semi-truck and trailers including commercial tires, HVAC, brakes, steering and suspension, PM inspections, drive train, and electrical.
• Ensure safe operation of company vehicles including compliance with speed and traffic regulations.
• Perform fleet inspections.
• Participate in training, follow safety procedures, job duties, and company policies.
• Drive a service truck to an onsite location where a customer is broken down.
• Load and unload stock and assist with physical inventory.
• Work with tire TPMS (Tire Pressure Management System).
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
