Job summary

Crowley in Alaska is seeking a dedicated fuel attendant/driver to support our Western Alaska terminals. You will perform DVIRs, fuel deliveries, testing, and safety duties, ensuring compliance with operations manuals and regulatory requirements.

You will work onsite in varied weather, travel to nearby hubs as needed, and participate in safe, efficient fueling operations while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • B/CDL with Hazmat endorsements required.
  • At least 1 year of straight truck driving experience.
  • Must wear a half-face respirator.
  • Able to climb stairs 50 ft high.
  • Work outdoors in all types of weather.
  • HazWOPER certification training preferred.
  • Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to terminals in Western Alaska.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and submit DVIR.
  • Inspect facilities prior to transfer operations.
  • Perform fuel quality testing per Terminal Operations Manual.
  • Assist with equipment and facility maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Conduct inventory control of bulk fuel tanks and tank trucks.
  • Deliver and receive fuel to/from company tanks, customer tanks, barges, and aircraft.
  • Handle customer service activities including fuel attendant duties and processing payments.
  • Serve as first responder to oil spill incidents.
  • Follow safety rules and perform other duties as assigned.

Education

B/CDL with Hazmat endorsements
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum one-year experience driving straight trucks
Must be able to wear a half-face respirator
Must be able to climb stairs 50 ft high
Requires work outside in all types of weather
24-hour HAZWOPPER certification training preferred
Must be willing to travel

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for providing support to our terminals in Western Alaska.

Responsibilities
  • Performs daily vehicle inspections, completes Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR), submits DVIR to Fleet Management
  • Prior to conducting transfer operations, performs inspections of facilities as appropriate
  • Performs fuel quality testing in accordance with the Terminal Operations Manual
  • Assists with maintenance and housekeeping of the equipment and facility as necessary
  • Performs inventory control of bulk fuel tanks and tank trucks as appropriate
  • Delivers and receives fuel to and from company tanks, customer tanks, barges, and aircraft as required
  • Performs all customer service‑related activities, including fuel‑attendant duties, reconciling pump meter readings, sales slips, and credit charge items
  • Acts as first responder to any company oil spill incident
  • Follows all safety rules as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications

  • 24‑hour HAZWOPPER certification training preferred
  • Must be willing to travel
Work Schedule
  • Point of Hire is Alaska. Employees that reside in Alaska are responsible for all costs associated with traveling to the nearest Alaskan hub city (Anchorage, Fairbanks, Bethel, Nome, Kotzebue, or Kenai). Employees that do not reside in Alaska are responsible for all costs associated with traveling to Anchorage, Alaska.
  • Wages will be paid for actual time spent traveling between the work assignment location and the originating Alaska hub city
  • The work schedule is flexible, dependent upon operational requirements, and to be mutually agreed upon between the company and the employee
  • The work week will commence on the first day of a scheduled work assignment
  • A minimum of 10 hours per day for all days worked
  • Overtime pay will be paid for any hours worked over 8 hours in any one given day or straight time 40 hours in any given week
