Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions in Albuquerque, NM is looking for an Automotive Installation Technician to install and troubleshoot GPS, telematics, dash cameras and related systems on light-duty vehicles and fleet assets. You will gain hands-on experience with wiring, diagnostics, and mobile installations while advancing safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
Comfortable reading wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Professional communication and customer service skills.
Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot GPS, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and related equipment.
Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, trailers, and fleet assets.
Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostics, and trailer connections.
Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
Test device functionality and diagnose electrical issues.
Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations.
Document installations with photos, device info, and notes.
Maintain safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
