Nextran Truck Centers is seeking a skilled Mobile Service Technician to service and repair medium and heavy-duty trucks at customer locations in Peoria, IL. You will diagnose problems, perform preventative maintenance, and complete repairs on-site to keep customers moving.

As a Mobile Service Technician with Nextran Truck Centers youll take your expertise directly to the customer providing hands on service and repairs where they are needed most
Youll diagnose problems perform preventative maintenance complete repairs and get medium and heavy duty trucks back on the road safely and efficiently

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY DAY SHIFT Mobile Technician must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays as required to support business and operational needs CDL & DOT MEDICAL CARD REQUIRED This position requires a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Drivers License CDL as appropriate for the mobile service vehicle and a current DOT Medical Examiners Certificate Medical Card Candidates must also meet Nextran Corporations driver qualification and insurability requirements Candidates must successfully complete a pre employment drug screening background investigation physical abilities assessment and motor vehicle record MVR check
Take your expertise on the road by traveling to customer locations and getting medium and heavy duty trucks back to workDiagnose troubleshoot and solve problems using your technical knowledge and hands on skills to identify the root cause and make the right repairKeep trucks performing at their best by completing preventative maintenance inspections and recommended serviceTackle repairs from start to finish including disassembly repair and reassembly of major truck componentsWork closely with our Parts Department to quickly identify and obtain the parts needed to keep repairs movingBuild customer confidence through professional knowledgeable and courteous interactions at every service callKeep the team informed by communicating repair updates additional service needs and potential delays with the Service AdvisorDispatcherDocument your work with pride by providing accurate detailed repair notes and recommendationsLook beyond the immediate repair by identifying safety concerns additional service needs and opportunities to help customers avoid future downtimeSupport quality warranty repairs by properly saving and tagging parts when requiredHelp develop the next generation of technicians by providing guidance and direction to Apprentice Technicians when assignedTake ownership of your tools and equipment by keeping company owned tools equipment and technical manuals secure organized and in good conditionWork safely and responsibly by following all safety procedures and immediately reporting equipment or safety concernsStay ahead of the industry by keeping up with manufacturer technical bulletins repair procedures and evolving service requirementsProtect our customers our team and the environment by following all applicable federal state and local regulations including OSHA and hazardous waste requirementsJump in where needed and take on other responsibilities that help our customers and team succeed
Mack Master Technician certification and 4 years of related experience andor training preferred but not required Hands on experience working on diesel engines and medium and heavy duty commercial trucks Strong diagnostic troubleshooting and problem solving skills Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player High School Diploma or GED required Valid Class A or Class B CDL REQUIRED Current DOT Medical Examiners Certificate Medical Card REQUIRED Must maintain a satisfactory driving record and meet Nextran Corporations driver qualification and insurability requirements Ability to use computer systems and electronic applications for recordkeeping communication scheduling diagnostics and other job related functions ASE and Cummins certifications are a plus
