Job summary

Are you a Diesel Technician at Nextran Truck Centers? This opportunity offers a pathway to advance your career within a supportive team that values craftsmanship and reliability.

You’ll work on medium- and heavy-duty trucks, diagnosing issues, performing maintenance, and carrying out repairs to keep customers on the road. You’ll need a high school diploma or GED and must obtain a CDL Class A or B within six months.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and/or GED.
  • Must obtain CDL Class A or B within six months of employment.
  • 4+ years of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Must maintain required endorsements/certifications to operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Complete repairs from minor fixes to major overhauls.
  • Disassemble and reassemble components accurately.
  • Document work with detailed service notes.
  • Utilize diagnostic systems and manufacturer software to troubleshoot and repair diesel-powered equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Now Hiring: DIESEL TECHNICIANS

Hourly Pay: $30–$50/hr.; compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, certifications, education, and demonstrated skills.

Hours of Work: MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY – DAY SHIFT

  • Mobile Technicians must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays as required to support business and operational needs.

What You’ll Do

As a Diesel Technician, you’ll maintain and repair medium- and heavy-duty trucks to keep our customers on the road. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues
  • Performing preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Completing repairs ranging from minor fixes to major overhauls
  • Disassembling and reassembling components accurately and efficiently
  • Documenting work with clear, detailed service notes
  • Utilize computer-based diagnostic systems, manufacturer software, and electronic tools to troubleshoot, diagnose, document, and repair diesel-powered equipment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B, within six (6) months of employment, as required for the position. Nextran has processes and resources available to support employees in obtaining their CDL. Employees must also maintain any required endorsements, certifications, and qualifications necessary to safely and legally operate company vehicles.
  • 4+ years of related experience and/or training preferred
  • Ability to utilize computer systems and electronic applications for recordkeeping, communication, scheduling, and other job-related functions
