AARP is seeking a Mobile Tech Lead to partner with cross-functional teams, translate business requirements into technical specs, and drive platform strategy. You will guide native mobile development across iOS and Android, mentor engineers, and ensure secure, scalable solutions that integrate with cloud services and APIs within a hybrid US-based setup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with native mobile development.
• Expertise in iOS or Android native development with knowledge of the other platform.
• Proficiency in Swift/Objective-C or Java/Kotlin for large-scale mobile apps.
• Experience leading roadmaps, architectural reviews and modernization initiatives.
• Strong understanding of mobile security, data storage, performance and maintainability.
• Experience integrating mobile apps with cloud services and APIs, preferably AWS.
• Ability to mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Establish a technical roadmap for platform strategy and lifecycle.
• Ensure secure, well-architected integration and data handling.
• Deliver rapid technical solutions and troubleshoot platform issues.
• Hold knowledge in networking, IAM, and information security tools.
• Drive continuous improvements in implementation methodologies and services.
• Participate in cross-team Community of Interest to align business needs with technology.
