Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Service Truck Technician II to perform intermediate maintenance and repair on tractors, trailers, and related equipment at customer sites or rail yards.

You'll operate a mobile service truck, document work orders, and ensure safety while completing preventive maintenance, tire and brake repairs, and basic diagnostics. This role requires outside work, some travel, and the ability to work across shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance/repair experience on semi-tractors or semi-trailers.
• Must be able to supply basic tools or participate in toolbox program.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors/trailers.
• Troubleshoot ABS, electrical systems and perform basic welding/repairs.
• Operate mobile service truck and document work orders accurately.
• Adhere to safety requirements at customer sites and rail yards.

Hunt tractors, trailers, chassis, containers or power equipment. Under routine supervision, this role works outside of the shop, servicing equipment at customer sites or rail yards using our mobile service truck.Job Description:Key Responsibilities:Perform intermediate-level preventive maintenance and repairs, including tire replacements, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics and basic structural repairs on tractor or trailer equipmentTroubleshoot and repair ABS systemProperly operate the mobile service truck and attend to truck inventoryAssist with the onboarding and mentorship of tractor technician traineesFollow all safety requirements while onsite and at customer locationsAccurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established proceduresProperly document damage to company equipment to estimate cost of repairs • Demonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipmentPatch holes in trailer or container side panels and roofsPerform annual AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections under direct supervisionQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalentAND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesPossess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B.
