You will also serve as a direct representative of Midwest Bus Sales with customers, making communication and customer service an important part of the role.What You Will DoDiagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty trucks, buses, and related fleet equipmentPerform preventive maintenance and vehicle inspectionsDiagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air-conditioning systemsUse vehicle electronic diagnostic systems to identify failure modes and complete repairsPerform technically difficult repairs, overhauls, and rebuilds as neededRespond to customer service calls and emergency breakdownsCommunicate repair needs, estimated repair time, and required materials to the Service WriterIdentify warrantable repairs and document them accurately on repair ordersComplete repair documentation, parts usage, and labor time in the fleet maintenance systemMaintain positive, professional relationships with customersKeep current on new equipment, technology, repair procedures, and industry regulationsHelp identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and grow the service businessWhat We Are Looking ForWe are looking for an experienced technician who can operate effectively in a mobile environment and solve problems without constant supervision.Successful candidates should bring:Strong experience repairing medium- or heavy-duty vehiclesAdvanced mechanical and diagnostic skillsExperience with electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and HVAC systemsAbility to use computerized diagnostic equipmentExperience using power tools, hand tools, and standard repair equipmentStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent time management and organizational skillsStrong communication and customer-service skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality repairsWhat Makes Someone Successful in This RoleThe strongest Mobile Service Technicians are self-starters who take ownership of their work.
