Thompson Tractor Company, Inc. is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Field Technician - Earthmoving to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders in field settings. A strong safety focus and ability to work independently in demanding conditions are essential.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, on-the-job and classroom training, and the commitment to progressing within the technician program. CDL/Med Card preferred and MVR is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of mechanical repair experience or equivalent technical education.
• Experience with personal computers and basic typing skills.
• MVR required; CDL and Medical Card preferred.
• OSHA and MSHA training required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy earthmoving equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; remove, install, disassemble, and reassemble components.
• Use diagnostic tools and manuals to identify issues and devise effective repair solutions.
• Conduct tests and inspections to verify safety and operational standards are met.
• Maintain accurate service reports, work orders, and documentation of parts and labor.
• Travel to job sites for on-site repairs and customer support; maintain service truck and PPE.
