Thompson Tractor Company seeks a Field Technician to perform service and repair work on earthmoving equipment in the field and shop. You will evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair equipment with on‑the‑job training, classroom instruction, and e‑learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience with mechanical repairs.
• Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills.
• MVR required; Med Card and CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards and procedures.
• Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures.
• Repairs engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components; remove/install, disassemble/reassemble, minor adjustments.
• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrates proper use of service information systems.
• Orders and returns parts promptly for assigned jobs.
• Tests and adjusts components for optimal performance.
• Works independently in the field as required.
