Job summary

TridentCare is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to perform blood collection at client facilities across California, primarily nursing homes. You will travel using your own vehicle and adhere to phlebotomy procedures, ensuring correct patient identification and proper specimen labeling.

The role requires current licensure if mandated by the state, valid driver’s license and auto insurance, strong English communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Must possess current clinical licensure, if required by State.
• Proficient in phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture and tourniquet use.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to laboratory purposes.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Drive personal vehicle to client facilities (mostly nursing homes) as directed.
• Follow established phlebotomy procedures for obtaining blood samples.
• Identify patients according to policy before drawing.
• Label specimens correctly with requisition and patient information.
• Transport PHI per policy and law.
• Plan draw schedule with patient prioritization.
• Complete logs, timesheets and records neatly.
• Coordinate with dispatch, payroll, lab and courier teams.
• Maintain and report equipment status to supervisor.
• Be available to work on assigned shifts and communicate availability.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Area Phlebotomy Supervisor.
