Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a per diem Phlebotomist to obtain blood and specimens across pediatric and adult units. You will transport specimens, complete basic records, and support family-centered care per Brown University Health’s mission and values.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, patient registration, processing of specimens, and adherence to universal precautions in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Phlebotomy certificate with internship and 100 venipunctures preferred.
Equivalent experience considered in lieu of internship or certification.
Ability to perform venipuncture on adults and children.

Responsibilities

Obtain blood and specimens following department procedures.
Register patients, verify identity, and order tests.
Prepare and manage specimen labels, chains, and transport.
Collect samples for routine and specialized tests as assigned.
Independently schedule venipunctures and document results.
Maintain records, answer phones, and assist with clerical tasks.
