Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certificate through NAACLS or completion of a phlebotomy program with internship (100 venipunctures).
• In lieu of internship, 6 months of phlebotomy experience may be considered.
• In lieu of phlebotomy certification, 5+ years direct phlebotomy experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform functions related to the computer system for proper collection and documentation of specimens.
• Register patients and order tests, verify identity, and collect demographics and insurance data.
• Manage ABN documentation including codes, signatures, and scanning.
• Conduct related clerical activities: follow-ups, filing, dialing, report delivery.
• Schedule venipunctures or capillary punctures per test priority and timing; prepare labels.
• Obtain patient samples via venipuncture/capillary methods and alert staff to issues.
