Job summary

American Health Associates is hiring a Mobile Phlebotomist in Mt. Vernon, IL. The role involves visiting patient homes, skilled nursing, and assisted living communities to collect blood specimens with venipuncture techniques, ensuring proper labeling and transport.

The ideal candidate has phlebotomy certification or 1+ year of experience, strong patient-facing skills, and the ability to work independently with a flexible schedule. Mileage reimbursement and flexible scheduling are offered.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification preferred; minimum one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Strong venipuncture skills, especially with elderly patients.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, current auto insurance (100/300/100), and minimum age 21.
• Clean criminal history, as required for positions with direct patient care; some states require additional background checks including fingerprinting.
• Home Draws: Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy work experience required; additional credentialing requirements must be successfully completed prior to working on our Home Draw team!
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• The self-direction to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
• Must possess a passion for SAFETY and CUSTOMER SERVICE

Responsibilities

• Travel to patient homes, nursing and assisted living facilities, and other healthcare locations across Mt. Vernon, IL
• Collect blood specimens using expert venipuncture and capillary collection techniques
• Verify patient identification and ensure accurate specimen labeling, integrity, and transport
• Provide professional, compassionate service to elderly patients and healthcare partners
• Complete required documentation and communicate clearly with laboratory and facility personnel
