Job summary

Akumin is hiring a part-time Patient Coordinator for our mobile unit serving Salinas Valley and Sutter Santa Cruz. The role handles patient check-in, registration in systems, scheduling, insurance verification, and patient education to ensure a smooth experience.

You will assist with transport, documentation, and coordination with clinical staff while ensuring compliance and accuracy of records across electronic systems. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state driver''s license may be required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in systems and verify insurance where needed.
• Answer calls professionally and collect time-of-service payments.
• Prepare and maintain patient records in electronic systems.
• Transport patients between rooms and provide pre/post procedure instructions.
• Ensure HIPAA compliant documentation.
