Job summary

Vision To Learn is seeking a qualified optometrist for a Maryland-based mobile clinic. The role involves traveling within Prince George’s County to provide eye exams and dispense glasses to students in underserved communities.

The Optometrist – Mobile Optometry position offers $90/hr with benefits and a sign-on bonus. Flexible schedule, mileage reimbursement, and no federal holidays, nights, or weekends (with limited voluntary exceptions).

Qualifications

• Maryland Optometry License is required.
• Must be flexible to commute throughout the greater Prince George’s County area.
• Must pass Department of Justice background check (LiveScan) and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision evaluations: check VA’s, assess binocular vision, IOP, pupils, perform a full refraction and prescribe appropriate correction, and assess ocular health.
• Prescribe vision devices, tests patient on all applicable equipment to determine the most suitable for his/her condition, and instruct patient in the proper use of it.
• Confirm that patient diagnosis is properly documented in the internal systems.
