Job summary

HealthDrive is currently seeking an Optometrist to provide on-site eye care across nursing homes, assisted living and long-term care facilities in the Flint, MI region. Flexible scheduling allows part-time or full-time work (2-5 days per week).

You will diagnose refractive and ocular conditions, enter data in our EMR, and travel daily to assigned facilities with full support from an experienced administrative and regulatory team.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.)
• State professional license
• Valid driver’s license
• TPA certified/Legend Drug Certificate
• Ability to work independently on a daily basis.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to use email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software.

Responsibilities

• Provide general optometry services to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long term care facilities within an assigned territory.
• Diagnose and treat refractive disorders.
• Diagnose and treat ocular disorders caused by age-related illnesses.
• Examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures.
• Enter patient information and complete required clinical documentation in our EMR system.
• Mobile model treatment requires daily travel to facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
